Also supplied are solid\r\ncentres for use on pre-delivery and the hurriedly painted machines of the mid-forties. Additionally early markings carried a\r\nCrown-shaped device in the outer ring at the ten o’clock position. The fin flashes should be cut to the required length while dry.\r\nAlso note the two Avro 618 Tens carried a gold-coloured crown at the nine o’clock position instead.\r\nOrientation of the crescents evolved over the years. Initially the moon crescent faced to the right in all positions, possibly as a\r\nresult of the use of the crown. This will entail using the separate handed centres on top of the roundel as the stars’ orientation\r\nwas constant. Apply these once the decal is in the correct position and fully dry. The coming of the jet era turned all the\r\ncrescents to open to the rear, possibly to make things look more streamlined!
