First Time Here?
Firstly welcome
to our site and hope you can find something of interest now or in the near future,
these are just a few points that we get asked frequently or think you should
know.
Why do
you list Secondhand items individualy in the way you do
Well we do not believe having one item covering all of the box styles
/ ages and conditions as others do as some people do not care about the boxes
and are happy to have a poor box at a cheaper price. If a secondhand item has
a quantity available then the ones available under that part number are all
in identical condition otherwise we would list it seperately with another photo
of that individual item. This is very time consuming for us but we think this
has always helps our customers as collectors and builders want totaly different
things.
Have You
Got ???????
All of our stock is listed on the site, and updated regularly. "Updated
Regularly" is a statement commonly used on the web but for us its true,
we normaly add the latest items we have every weekend, this can be upto 500
items either unique secondhand or new lines or back in stocks. Why dont you
see the Airfix Cars, HMS Repulse Airfix 1/32 Figures etc? its because a lot
of items go within hours of the update and as soon as they have sold they dissapear
from the site (or go to zero quantity if purchased by phone), a lot of items
we add we could sell 100 times over and unlike others we dont add silly prices
to our items or list endless reems of items that we do not have in stock (we
have all seen those sites). Even if a common item like the current Airfix Spitfire
is not available we do not list it until stock is available sagain.
How Accurate
Is The "Quantity Available" figure.
The stock available quantity is live, not updated once a day week or
month but purely live. When a item is purchased on the phone / online or on
the premises the quantity online is automaticaly updated. We have lost the odd
item as there is always bound to be a locating mistake with the amount of orders
we process but on average we ship 200 orders per week and are unable to fulfill
about one order every 2 months so about 1 in 1700 orders. This is due to the
fact that the whole system is computerised and we "stock count" on
a regular basis.
Backorders.
Again unlike other companies we do not accept them full stop. Why?
two main reasons:
1. We never
know when the stock will definately arrive on all items, most we do but some
items we have been waiting nearly two years for, the SS France for instance.
2. By the time it arrives to us you may have found it elsewhere sooner, cheaper,
better, different make, Card details changed, moved etc.
Most manufacturers list their new releases and dates on there websites, usualy
with much more info than we or others would show and as we and others have the
new releases on pre-order with the suppliers we all get them at the same time.
Shipment
Times / Postage Costs / Overseas Order / Privacy etc
All of these topics are covered in the catagories to the right of the
screen, anything else you need to know or are unsure about please call on +44(0)1933
622654 or e-mail us on sales@modelsforsale.com
Do You Buy Collections / Models / Shop Stock
Yes we do but usualy from the UK only as postage costs normaly make
it prohibitive from overseas. Please send us your list and what you would like
for them and will contact you.
Concerned
About Buying Over The Web / From Us.
A natural thought and one that anyone should bear in mind when ordering
on the web.
We are a Limited company registered with companies house.
We have a day time phone number and not a mobile.
Our address is on the top of every page of the website and customers are welcome
to collect their orders in person.
Online card details entered are protected by a 2048k encryption, details of which
canm be seen in the top right hand corner during the order process or by double
clicking on the small yellow padlock that appears at the bottom of your browser
window.
New Prices
We do try to offer most of the mainstream items below the RRPs but
on some manufacturers we just cannot do this as the margins are so tight. The
larger model companies online who get the biggest discounts from suppliers do
not pass this on in any way!
If you think we have an item that you are interested in priced incorrectly then
please let us know so that we can rectify this.
Secondhand
Prices
We again try to be as cheap as possible but this is not always possible,
some items just cost a lot for us to stock them and on some of the rarest items
we list them on our site at the price we paid as a service for fellow modellers.
And again if you are interested in an item and you think the price is too high
please tell us why and if we agree we will change it.
Whats the
Differnce Between New and Mint ?
For tax reasons we have to seperate the new items from the ex-shop
stock and secondhand items and to give the customer the knowledge if its new
or not. If the item is listed as "New" then the item has come from
the manufactuer or distributor direct. If listed as anything else including
mint it has come from a collection or ex shop stock. Usualy the mint and nr
mint items are as new its just that we do not list them that way.
